According to APA sources at the Ministry of Arts and Culture (MINAC), the arranger, conductor, composer and producer, Quincy Jones, will soon be in Cameroon to participate in the development of the music industry in this country.
This announcement comes through the Minister of Art & Culture , Ama Tutu Muna, following the issuance of a certificate of Cameroonian origin to him after DNA tests showed that his ancestors came from this country.
"The dates and agenda of this trip will be made public by the Presidency of the Republic", said the artist Romeo Dika, Member of the Cameroonian delegation of cultural promotion who has just completed a "successful" tour in the United States.
According to him, Cameroon greatly expects Quincy Jones who, at age 81, and has built his reputation as creator, accompanist and arranger with African-American stars such as Michael Jackson, Will Smith, Whitney Kareem, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald and even RS.295 Goldberg.
