Petit Pays
The Makossa guru who has kept the flare for Makossa in the minds of many fans for more than 30 years is on a US tour with his recent makossa hit ‘Classe Supperieure’.
Alafnet.com international correspondent Derick Jumbog caught up with Adolphe Claude Moundi aka Petit Pays, on his current tour in the US.
The tour takes him to Dallas, Washington, Texas, New York where he is expected to continue thrilling clubbers and fans to the dance floor with a live concert the will mark the end of his current US tour in Atlanta on November 27.
Understandably very busy, the Cameroon artiste and Makossa icon took some time off his schedule to drop a word for our alafnet.com readers.
Alafnet.com:Hello, Good afternoon and thank you for taking the time during this busy schedule to talk to alafnet.com.Do you stand by this introduction?
Petit Pays: Good afternoon, welcome and Yes Mr Jumbog, the facts speaks for themselves.
Alafnet.com:How are you enjoying your visit here to the US, and the tour in general?
Petit Pays: Everything is going well, much better than expected.
Alafnet.com: How do you describe yourself?
Petit Pays: Adolphe Claude Moundi is a Cameroonian musician and artiste.
Alafnet.com:In your latest albums, you are “ l’avocate et Defenseur des femme” have you changed from advocating and defender for women to advocating for orphans?
Petit Pays: No, I am advocating for both. There is no change. Orphans and women are two groups that are mostly defenseless. I will always defend them. In my album, I also sing about ‘OKHF’ which is a foundation to support orphans and I stand with them to help the kids.
Alafnet.com: OKHF- which stands for Orphan Kids Help Foundation?
Petit Pays: Yes.
Alafnet.com:Listening to your album, one could get the impression that you are a man on a mission. Is that so?
Petit Pays: I am always on a mission. I evolve with the society. I am always working hard to entertain and keep Makossa alive.
Alafnet.com: What do you think is so special in this ‘Classe Supperieure’?
Petit pays: It is very special in that, I have listened to my fans and every age group is represented in ‘ Classe Supperieure’.
Alafnet.com: Nigerian music has taken over Cameroon music market, Is that true? If so, what is your opinion.
Petit Pays:Well, it is true for now. There is an evolution in music. If you notice Congolaise, coupe Decale are all second to Nigerian music now. The main factors affecting these are their good advertisements and quality videos.
Alafnet.com: What is your message to your fans?
Petit Pays: Well, I am telling my fans not be discouraged. We the artistes need your support. Without your support it is difficult for us to operate and offer you good products.
Alafnet.com: When should fans expect your next album?
Petit Pays: Very soon. I have started a remix of this current album ‘Classe Supperieure' and I am currently working on it.

Petit Pays:Yes, I want to thank all my fans who have supported me over the years. I am also welcoming all my new fans. There is a lot of work to be done and we are in it together.
