Boy Giresse a.k.a Okasa Wanumu is a talented Cameroonian recording artist who divides his time between Sweden and Cameroon.

His musical style is a fine blend of Afro-pop, Rnb and Makossa. Born Alain Damba in a small neighbourhood of Kumba in 1985, Boy Giresse spent most of his teenage life in Kumba where he did both his primary and secondary education.

He studied Microbiology at the University of Buea graduating with excellent grades.

After leaving the university, Boy Giresse tried a couple of ventures in Limbe before heading to Sweden to further his education.

He obtained a first class MSc. degree in Molecular Biology/ Human Genetics from Umeå University in Sweden and later worked as a medical researcher.

He enjoys going to the gym, playing football and travelling.

Music has always been an integral part of Boy Giresses life.

At an early age of 10 he was performing the songs of Kotto Bass and his contemporaries.

By the time he was 13 years old Boy Giresse could sing covers to most of R. Kelly’s songs.

In his teens he shied performing in public but was always keen to express his inspirations to close friends and family.

In Sweden Boy Giresse met music producer Iafrobeatz and together they recorded a couple of songs and performed at several night clubs.

Boy Giresse has always acknowledged that his musical influences as a kid were R. Kelly, Usher, and Michael Jackson but today he identifies Davido and Wizboyy as his greatest influences.

The song “Gimme dat mololo” came through a cross border collaborative effort. It is produced and recorded both in Cameroon and in Sweden.

Dijay Pazzo produced the song alongside Iafrobeatz.

The most difficult part of the production was to look for a female singer to complement Boy Giresse’s rich vocals.

That is where Belvia came in. Her performance was top notch.

“Gimme dat mololo” is an afro-pop song dedicated to everyone who loves and appreciates beautiful music.

It will be released digitally as a single.
