  Such a carefully written piece that addresses the multiple strands that shadeism encompasses. Often it is the impact on those of us of a darker complexion that is focussed on and understandably so. However this analysis looks further and uncovers the false dichotomy that the oppressor uses to good effect to embed the divide and rule strategy that helped them maintain chatel enslavement for so long. Today it maintains, in some, the enslavement of the mind that continues the division and inhibits our movement toward freedom from racist oppression. This writer demonstrates that they have seen through the con which signals hope for the future, that despite efforts to divide us we will continue to work together and diminish racist oppression.
