According to sources, the 12th edition of the campaign "Holidays without AIDS" was launched Wednesday in Yaounde, the Cameroonian capital, by the Minister of public health André Mama Fouda.

Under the theme: "Youth, the fight against AIDS continues", this two-week operation will mobilize 700,000 students, students and unemployed youth around to embark on sensitisation and education on HIV/AIDS, distribution of condoms and educational events.

Free screening sessions will also be held throughout the territory. Last year, we learnt that, "Holidays without AIDS" witnessed the distribution of more than 700,000 condoms and screening of some 38,000 people.

According to statistics from the national anti-AIDS Committee, the HIV/AIDS prevalence rate is 1.2% among 15-19 year-olds, and 2.2% among 20-24 year-olds.
