First Lady Mrs Chantal Biya has inaugurated the Hospital Centre for Applied Research, Endoscopic Surgery and Human Reproduction (CHRACERH) this Friday, May 6, 2016.

The centre located in the Ngousso neighbourhood of Yaounde will serve as a human reproductive teaching hospital.

During the ceremony, Mme Chantal Biya thanked the Head of State for his determination in equipping the Cameroonian health sector and implored women to go to the hospital.

The Director General of the Centre, Prof Jean Marie Kasia on his part, thanked the First Lady for her support in ensuring the safety of mothers and their children.

A highpoint of the day wad the award of medals to staff and partners of the centre.

CHRACERH is a three-storey building with six operation rooms, six labour and delivery rooms and a staff strength of 350 workers.

The foundation stone of the centre was laid in 1999 by First Lady Chantal Biya.

This centre seems to be a stitch in time as studies reveal that about 30 per cent of Cameroon's population is affected by fertility problems.
