Germany to mobilize €16m for Cameroon health system

Germany will mobilize €16 million to help improve Cameroon’s health system, Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Personal Representative for Africa, Günter Nooke announced.

Speaking Thursday in Yaoundé after meeting President Paul Biya, the German envoy said that this support will also help to improve lives of Central African refugees and Cameroonians displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency.

He promised more support from Europe and his country in particular in the fight against the jihadist movement.

Günter Nooke also discussed with Mr. Biya about the holding of a roundtable talks on funding Cameroon’s economy in 2016 in Germany.
