Gynecologists schooled on endoscopic surgery

Gynecologists nationwide and from all over Africa have been involved in the 6th workshop on surgical procedures particularly on how to close the stomach after surgery since Monday in Yaounde.

Endoscopic surgery is a surgery that is done through small holes and can be either through the abdomen or Hysteroscopy or genital tract.

Yesterday two women went through surgical operation via this method. "Everything went well. They are doing well and will start walking as soon as tomorrow, said Pr Jean Marie Kasia, president of the African society of endoscopic gynecology surgery (AFSGE) and Director of the CHRACERH.

It was on the occasion of the official opening of the 6th workshop of endoscopic surgery in Gynecology. Placed on intensive training on the laroscopiques sutures, the participants from various countries were trained on the latest technological advancement in the field.

On this occasion, Pr Jean Marie Kasia, climbed to power, which means that in the CHRACERH Cameroonian gynecologists are now able to do this surgery. "We had to go through these steps to show that the hospital already works although the first consultations began in April 2014.

Now that it's gone, I think that it is all to the benefit of Africans in General, particularly Cameroonian women, he added.

The objective of this meeting is to train possible gynaecologists who would be able well to support women's health.

This ceremony chaired by Emmanuel Tonye, Vice-President in charge of research, cooperation and relations with the world of business at the University of Yaoundé I, representing the Rector presented, speakers welcomed the introduction of this work by the president of the Republic Paul Biya and Cameroonian first lady Chantal Biya.

A reference for endoscopic and gynecological surgery in Africa which allows an easy practice of surgical procedures through an advanced equipment. And for Dr. Joséphine Kouassi Kassi, responsible for training, it is a challenge as they will operate just as in Europe.
