The centre that was inaugurated to take care of the less privileged and vulnerable is funded by the US President's Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

This is in a bid to reach the zero AIDS goal throughout the world. Speaking at the ceremony, the representative of the US Ambassador to Cameroon, Gregory Thome, revealed that the US goal to reach zero AIDS in the world in the near future is impossible without the engagement of all the countries, governments, civil societies, Non- governmental Organisations and local communities.

It is for this reason that they are carrying out the fight in over 70 countries around the world. He said the US donated 24 billion US dollar in 2012 and hope to increase the support to 29 billion dollars in 2013.

Life Centre will reach out to the population through peer educators, carry out volunteer counselling and testing and engaged in psychosocial support. It is worth noting that the services are free and in addition free medication and food for the underprivileged.
