The four State faculties and private institutions of Bagangte and Nkolondom were maintained by the National Commission of medical education Friday in Yaounde.

This is as a result of the fact that the head of State and the Prime Minister, head of Government attach cardinal importance to the quality of the training of health personnel.

After more than six hours of closed exchanges Friday, Prof. Jacques Fame Ndongo, Minister of higher education and president of the National Commission for medical training, pharmaceutical and odontostomatology of Cameroon (CNFPM) did not hide the importance of foundations.

According to him, life is the most precious thing offered to a nation. Without healthy citizens, all projects and all the strategic vision of the head of State will be only superficial. And for this reason and many others, all new applicants to the training of these professionals have been recalibrated.

We are authorised to provide these lessons for the year 2014-2015 under which the six structures which existed, notably, the Faculty of medicine and biomedical sciences of the University of Yaoundé I, Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Buea, the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Bamenda and two private institutions: Bagangte health sciences Institute and the higher Institute of medical technology of Nkolondom in Yaounde were maintained.

"We felt the records of these new applications were not convincing from the qualitative point of view, infrastructure, teachers, programs and hospitals. We have therefore included no establishment", explained the Minesup.

With regard to the national competition, two modules proposed have been put in place, a module for the public and one for the private sector.

And at the end of such training, the doctors will no more be directly integrated. All will go through a national competition organized by the Ministry of public service and administrative reform.

Created by the Prime Minister, head of Government, the CNFPM is responsible for issuing technical opinions on the quality of the training of health professionals.

Thanks to the proposals of its first session July 31, 2013, national examinations and a special selection of students was conducted last October and November. 1121 students were integrated into six authorized establishments.

Allocations of exceptional aid (207 million F) were attributed to students of 1st year of two approved private institutes.

The second session which held Friday was devoted to evaluation of the resolutions of the first session: the reform of hospital services, new applications for accreditation and the Organization of national examinations.
