André Mama Fouda, Minister of Public Health
The Minister of Public Health, André Mama Fouda, on December 30, 2015, in Yaounde, commissioned Alexandre Bahanag Bassong and the Director in charge of Organisation of Treatment and Health Technology, Dr Zoa Nanga Yves Mathieu.
Speaking at the occasion, Minister André Mama Fouda called on the new officials to improve relations between State hospitals and the public, beginning by boosting staff morale.
He urged the Director in charge of Organisation of Treatment and Health Technology to ensure that only health professionals are allowed to practise.
On the other hand, André Mama Fouda instructed Dr Zoa Nanga to help improve the level of health equipment in order to reduce the number of patients flown abroad for treatment.
Alexandre Bahanag Bassong, a Law Lecturer, was formerly Head of the Legal Unit in the Ministry of Public Health. He replaces Vaillam Joseph. Zoa Nanga Yves Mathieu, the new Director in charge of Organisation of Treatment and Health Technology, was formerly Director of Jamot Hospital, Yaounde. He has also headed several Health Districts. He replaces Essomba Arthur Georges Alfred.
