After opening a front against terrorism, the international football star, Samuel Eto’o Fils, former captain of the Indomitable Lions is determined to overcome malaria, HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis.
“Football is a powerful instrument, a language that is played beyond borders and we can use it to fight infectious diseases, of which, know no borders also. To win these diseases would require that everyone plays together. That is why I am committed to the field of international health. I want to play a leading role, be a new striker in this urgent mission. The former captain of the Indomitable Lions has just been involved in the fight against malaria, tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. For him, this fight is more important than any other carried throughout his life: “Cameroon is in my veins, and each time I’ve worn the jersey of my national team was an opportunity and a great pride. I hope to make enjoy my country and Africa the experience I gained in football, through my partnership support of the Global Fund, which has helped save more than 17 million lives in my country and in the world“.
The Ambassador of the Global Fund to fight these endemic diseases acknowledges having been lucky because he could have been very well a victim of these diseases. He meant by this gesture, to “contribute to the victory by teaming with others to combat these diseases. I engage in battle by wearing the colors of the Global Fund against AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. ” Samuel Eto’o Fils is expected on May 9, 2016, in Canada under the “Townhall” for the purpose of supporting the fight against these diseases that claim many victims worldwide.
