State doctors to integrate with public service doctors

Doctors of State faculties will 'all' be integrated into the public service Doctors except Medical faculties of State in the universities of Bamenda, Buea, Douala and Yaoundé.

"This is scheduled to take effect during the promotion of 2012-2013 of the first year. On the other hand, those from the National (October 2013) quarters and all those from other promotions will be bound to undergo a national exam, in the same way as their sisters and brothers on other faculties and institutes approved by the State, if they want to be integrated into the Cameroonian public service", says the Minister of higher education, Jacques Fame Ndongo, in an interview published in the Government daily from July 17, 2014.


This difference in treatment is linked to the reform of the medical, pharmaceutical and odonto-stomatologic curriculum of July 2013 which introduced an academic exam for the entrance and exit of an academic cycle for six higher institutions for medical formation approved by the State.


In the same interview, the Minister of higher education (Minesup), also returned to the case of the newly added institution in Cameroon; Higher Technical Teacher Training College (HTTTC) of the University of Buea in Kumba, created by a presidential decree of March 07, 2014.

Back to school, which was officially scheduled for September, should take place in the month of "October 2014" Pr Jacques Fame Ndongo assured. Enset Kumba, which is sheltered by certain premises as Lycée technique of Kumba and the Lycée technique Kang Arombi, is also in the pipeline, according to Minesup. "500 students who will be recruited into the 1st and 2nd cycles" of its 14 departments.


A notice for the recruitment of 30 teachers has already been published by the Vice-chancellor of the University of Buea according to information from Minesup.
