US Embassy promises support for HIV/AIDS patients

Michael S. Hoza paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Public Health on February 5, 2015.

During this visit, the Minister of Public Health, André Mama Fouda, on Thursday February 5, 2015, received Ambassador Michael S. Hoza.

Speaking to journalists afterwards, the diplomat said the purpose of the visit was to explain changes in programmes of the Embassy based on their increases and success in Cameroon in terms of combating HIV/AIDS and how the Embassy intends to make the programmes more efficient.

“We have very close collaboration with our partners in the Ministry of Public Health and we look forward to a very successful programme,” he said.

The diplomat said the US intends to partner with Cameroon in other areas in order to grow a robust partnership, especially Cameroon’s ability to withstand pandemics.

Ambassador Michael S. Hoza explained that the US Embassy also intends to lay emphasis on Anti-retroviral Drugs for children affected by HIV/AIDS.

He said the Embassy hopes to make an even more significant contribution to battle HIV/AIDS and work towards an AIDS-free generation in Cameroon.
