The children of some 32 blind men and women based in Yoke, Muyuka Sub-Dvision of Fako, have a rather smooth school resumption this year. The kids were offered school needs, mid August, including cloths, exercise books, pens, bags and rulers during an open day
organized by the Fako Divisional Delegation of the Ministry of Small And Medium Sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicraft, MINPMEESA. In the same vein their blind parents received CFA 60.000 under their umbrella association of Shelter Workshop for the Blind in Yoke-Muyuka. The MINPMEESA Divisional Delegate, Martina Agbor Tambe, sought for donor, United Action for Children (UAC), and organized the occasion to assist the sightless of Shelter Workshop for the Blind based in Yoke-Muyuka to showcase their hand manufactured goods and fetch income for them. Such handicrafts produced by the blind included baskets, chairs, floor and foot mats, cane- wood trails, and detergent.
The Representative of the Fako Senior Divisional Officer Nkem Daniel Ebai, hailed MINPMEESA for bringing joy to the blind families of Yoke. Earlier, Joseph Ndille Ngwesse, host Deputy Mayor of Muyuka, lavished praises on MINPMEESA, for bringing smiles to the faces of handicapped parents of Yoke. Martina Agbor Tambe said MINPMEESA was, by the act, building capacity, attracting public attention to the handicapped of Yoke, and also promoting handicraft works in Fako Division. She remarked that, in the handicraft sector, the blind are an asset in Fako and though lacking the means, they have the will and the technique. The benefactor and President of UAC, Thomas Orock, promised to donate more needs to the blind of Yoke.
