According to the daily Le Jour, an extraordinary meeting is announced to appoint his successor. Candidates are pulling strings behind the scenes to ensure their good positioning.

According to Le Jour newspaper edition of July 20,2016, the Social Democratic Front (SDF) is currently preparing an extraordinary meeting. The aim of this congress is to “designate a possible replacement of the Chairman at the forthcoming Presidential elections,” the paper wrote.

It reports that although the issue of a possible early presidential has not yet been decided by the Head of State, however, within this political party “candidates are already pulling strings in the background to ensure a good position “to head the main party of the opposition in Cameroon.

At present, campaigns are ongoing on media just a few weeks after SDF organs renewal operations qualified as “turbulent” in the Littoral Region.
