The special Disciplinary Committee of the Alliance for Progressive Forces (AFP) has sanctioned three party officials of the Yaounde II Municipal Committee for violating party rules and regulations.
Jean Jacques Enama Ohanda and Josué Nguegang were last May 28 during the party's first Disciplinary Committee meeting slammed 15 years suspension from party activities while Emmanuel Nguenang will no longer be part of AFP activities for a period of 20 years.
The sanctions come on the heels of their participation at the 2012 National Day activities at the May 20 Avenue in Yaounde contrary to the party's decision to boycott 20th May 2012 activities nationwide. APF was one of the nine political parties that signed the Foumban Declaration of May 13, 2012 with a key resolution to boycott National Day activities in protest against the recently promulgated electoral code.
Given that the above sanctioned members were duly informed of the decision not to take part in the activities, the Disciplinary Committee headed by the National Chairman of the party, Barrister Bernard A. Muna in a communiqué decided to take the bull by the horns. To the committee, their taking part in National Day activities was in flagrant violation of instructions from hierarchy and disregard for the Constitution of the party especially Article 47 subsections 2 (a) (b) (c), 3 and 4.
It was the first Disciplinary Committee meeting of the party. The President of the committee was Barrister Bernard A. Muna and Barister Paul Poufiong the Secretary. Committee members included Alice Charlotte Zambou Sadio, Pascal Zamboué, Alexis Nyamsi and Chrétien Tabetsing. The meeting held at the party's Tsinga headquarters in Yaounde on May 28.
