The CPDM crisis rocking Prime Minister Philemon Yang’s Oku sub division of origin is far from over. A recent reconciliatory ecumenical service ordered by the Star Building occupant and chaired by his envoy; the North West governor; yielded little or no fruits.

Even though ordered by the prime minister, the quarrelling Oku CPDM officials made nonsense of the ceremony as a majority of them boycotted the event. In what has been interpreted as Yang’s inability to stamp his authority even on his native land, the Oku CPDM section president, Sopse Patrick and the CPDM MP, Hon. Kwei Andrew stayed away from the event even though it was meant principally to reconcile both CPDM party officials.

In the heat of the crisis that has been rocking the CPDM in Oku, Sopse Patrick told The Guardian Post earlier that he had decided to resign as the CPDM section president for Oku because: “I wrote to the central committee and President Paul Biya complaining that everything was going wrong in Oku without any one to bring the house in order but was ignored...I had to resign because I cannot continue serving a political party that lacks respect for my person".

It was apparently to put the house in order that the prime minister despatched North West governor, Adolf Lele L’Afrique to chair the ecumenical service which unfortunately has further exposed Yang Philemon’s inability to put his constituency in order.

Meanwhile speaking at the poorly-attended ecumenical service that was staged in Elak-Oku on September 29, Lele L’Afrique pleaded with the entire population of Oku and CPDM militants in particular to bury their prolonged differences and work together as sons and daughters of the same womb for the sake of peace, unity and development of their sub-division.

While praying for divine intervention in Oku, the governor called on the elite to set a good example for their children to emulate and help the head of state, Paul Biya to achieve his 2035 vision of emergence.

Besides, the Oku population was called upon to join hands with the head of state in preventing the outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus and circumvent the activities of the extremist group - Boko Haram.
