The reorganization of basic organs of the CPDM party in Donga Mantung 1, Nkambe have come and gone with emblematic party diehard and Douala-based businessman, Ngala Gerald emerging as the section president. Ngala had what many have described as an easy victory as he was elected by acclamation.

The elections that hitherto were expected to be hotly contested, did not produce any fireworks as the militants in a rare show of maturity and mutual understanding accepted to present consensus candidates as advised by party bigwigs.

Thus the Central committee supervisor for Donga-Mantung, Senator Njingum Musa and his delegation had very little to worry about in Donga-Mantung 1, Nkambe. This was so because prior to their arrival, the local team for the reorganization headed by Nji Christopher, had already done all the ground work.

It is important to note that Ngala Gerald’s election was expected by many given that he had already taken over the management of the party after the erstwhile section president, Ghabir Paul became the mayor of Nkambe after 2013 municipal election. Worthy to note also that Ngala defeated Awudu Mbaya in parliamentary elections in Nkambe but his victory was neutralized by the crushing victory of the SDF candidate, Hon. Ngala Esther in Ndu.

Apart from Ngala Gerald who is now section president for Donga-Mantung 1, Nkambe, Mrs Njuhwa and Kilah Godlove also won for WCPDM and YCPDM respectively.

Speaking after his brilliant election Ngala Gerald said: “I am once again humbled by this mark of confidence shown by the militants of Donga Mantung 1 section. I hasten to heartily thank all my supporters for this recognition. I pledge my unquestionable and unflinching loyalty towards the CPDM party and its hierarchy.”

Ngala pledged to do all within his power to strengthen the CPDM in Donga Mantung and also bring much-needed development to his people.

At the time of going to press on Sunday, the results for Ndu, Mesaje, Ako and Nwa were still awaited.
