The Secretary General of the Cameron People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM, Jean Nkuete, has described the recent Amnesty International Report as “an enemy report on Cameroon.

The indictment of the report is contained in a communiqué Nkuete signed on July 20. In the communiqué, the CPDM Scribe rubbished the report of the London based organisation on the situation of human rights in Cameroon.

According to him, the Amnesty International Report is a way to destabilise the on-going fight against the terrorist group Boko Haram in Cameroon.

“The erroneous and partisan presentation of the situation at the war front against Boko Haram raises strong disapproval from me and militants of the CPDM.

Amnesty International today stands ostensibly as a lawyer of a terrorist group known worldwide for its indiscriminate atrocities having made a solemn allegiance to the Islamic State group, which on the contrary does not respect any human right “.

Nkuete accused Amnesty International of undermining the morale of the Cameroonian defense forces and “discredit their noble struggle and heavy human sacrifices to eradicate terrorist gangrene in the Sub Region.”

To him, the Cameroonian armed force is made up of men and women whose Republican values, sense of honour and moral integrity are unanimously recognised.

Nkuete, nonetheless, called on the CPDM family and all compatriots to strengthen their support for the defense forces and the population in areas affected by the war and to intensify their collaboration with them to the struggle against the terrorists.

To Nkuete, victory over the Islamic group will accelerate and assure Cameroon’s march to its economic expansion and full development of the country’s valiant people under the leadership of the National President of the CPDM, Paul Biya.

The move by the Secretary General of the CPDM Central Committee comes on the heels of similar denouncements by the Minister of Communication and Government Spokesperson, Issa Tchiroma.
