The leaders of the CPDM party in Limbe used celebrations to mark Biya’s 32 years in office to decry the divisions that are rife within the Fako I CPDM, Limbe.
The Section President, Andrew Motanga, after enumerating all the achievements the Head of State has recorded in Limbe and Fako, sneered at the fact that a few militants of the party have continued to drag the party’s reputation in the mud.
“In spite of repeated calls to order, a few militants have taken upon themselves to engage in unremitting slander, blackmail, intoxication, brazen lies-telling and false rumour mongering against elected officials and party leaders, just for their selfish interest,” Motanga averred.
Stating that this attitude must stop, Motanga observed that it has been helping rather to diminish the Limbe CPDM.
Senator Matute, on his part, stated that, “Camps do not build, but rather divide and kill the party.” He advised that those who were already burning with the desire to see certain people moved from their positions should “wait until when their internal party elections shall come up.
” Matute, called on the militants to be thankful to God for what he said was the peace that the Head of State has endeavoured to provide in the country and in the party.
On behalf of the Central Committee, Samuel Mokate, remarked that many of their militants do not even know the motto of their party which is “Unity, peace and democracy.”
“In fact, if we sow peace in our party, there will be fewer problems,” he further remarked that the name of the party itself, as in French, means, bringing people together. He called on the party leadership to try and bring the militants together.
“We should wipe away gossips and allow militants to enjoy themselves. Let us correct our mistakes so that the party can forge ahead,” he said.
The celebrations were graced by the presence of the General Manager of SONARA, Ibrahim Talba Malla; CDC GM Franklin Njie; Fako SDO, Zang III, among others.
