"CPDM used door-to-door campaign to topple SDF in NW"

The CPDM Coordination Unit of all Section Presidents of the Northwest Region has averred that the party used the door-to-door campaign strategy to defeat and oust the SDF in Santa and other councils that have been under the grip of the SDF for over 22 year, during the 2013 Senatorial, Legislative and Municipal elections.

“We avoided public rallies and decided that it was person to person contact to sell the ideals of our great national party. As SDF intensified public rallies, we intensified silent political campaigns that paid-off. This strategy brought us a lot of gains, from one seat in Parliament, to nine seats, from six councils to 19 out of 34 councils. If we can talk of 10 Senators at the Upper House of Parliament, it is thanks to this Coordination unit that did not spare any effort to deliver Santa and other towns of the Northwest to the CPDM. This is because we were less noisy and added the massive nocturnal campaigns, combing all nooks and crannies,” John B. Ndeh, General Coordinator of the Unit averred, during a meeting that held recently at Ayaba Hotel, Bamenda.

J.B Ndeh told the Section Presidents that President Paul Biya has finally endorsed the setting up of Coordination Units of the party in all 10 regions of the country.

The Coordination Unit of the CPDM, according to Ndeh, was initiated 10 years ago by Late Hon Samuel Ngeh Tamfu, Fon Angwafor III of Mankon, Senator Simon Achidi Achu, Fon Gayongha of Bali and Senator Francis Nkwain.

Ndeh said the sweeping successes registered by the CPDM in the Northwest were thanks to the study and political research carried out by the Coordination Unit. He regretted that when the Unit was founded, some militants of the party viewed it as a dissident group. This, he said, let to the suspension of the Unit until 2010, when President Biya visited the Northwest Region and granted the Unit audience.

Ndeh continued that, going by the text creating the regional and divisional coordinators of the CPDM, their National Chairman has again put them on political alert and, as such, they must remain united for a common purpose, thoughts and actions.

“The time has come for us to commit our lives to consolidate our political gains and remain the political limelight of this country. Our 10 years experience under the Coordination Unit of the Northwest CPDM Section Presidents has thought us the lesson of development-politics which is the politics of unity,” Ndeh said.

He said President Biya’s endorsement of the Unit nationwide merits appreciation.

The Boyo CPDM Section President and Secretary General of the Northwest Coordination Unit, Dr. Joseph Ngam, and Becky Acham, Section President for Santa, said, thanks to the Unit, current Government ministers and directors of State corporations from the Northwest Region have not been fired by President Biya.

Commenting on the recent circular dismissing some militants of the party, they said they were satisfied that, out of the 165 militants who were either dismissed or suspended, none of them came from the Northwest. They acclaimed Biya for recognising Justin Amougou Manga of Mefou and Afamba Section for his hard work.

According to them, the devil is only happy to destroy a divided house. The Northwest CPDM Section Presidents warned that propagators of the forces of darkness will soon be named and shamed if they continue with their diabolic plans to destroy the party.
