The Social Democratic Front (SDF) Chairman was in Buea over the weekend.

Supporters of the leading opposition party, SDF in Buea have been called upon to cast their votes massively for the party to enable SDF take over the control of the council once again and the parliamentary seats in Buea.

The chairman of the SDF, Ni John Fru Ndi was speaking on Friday, September 20 at the CBC School field in Bolifamba while addressing supporters in his South West lap of his nationwide campaign to woo electors ahead of the September 30 municipal and legislative elections. Fru Ndi told militants in Buea that the SDF needs a comfortable win because the party is not ready to share the Buea Council.

The chairman urged his party supporters to defend their votes and shun any form of intimidation. According to him, the time of intimidation has gone. "They will trample over our corpses to seize the Tiko and Buea councils from us", Fru Ndi said in reaction to a supposed statement that was purportedly made by South West Governor that it would be impossible for an opposition Mayor to welcome the Head of State in the Buea during celebrations of the 50th anniversary of reunification. He reminded administrators and security officers that they are first of all Cameroonians and by so doing, must be ready to serve whichever party is in power.

Earlier, the Buea District Chairman of the SDF expressed hopes that the biometric registration will surely produce a change in the electoral process. The Parliamentary and Municipal candidates who Fri Ndi described as men and women of standards were presented to the party supporters. Fru Ndi also toured Tiko, Limbe, Muyuka and Kumba in his South West lap of nationwide campaigns.
