Information on the burial of the deceased national Youth President of the ruling CPDM party, Stephen Mbonda Motia, who died last August 6, has remained a secret.

Up to this moment, no one has been able to say for sure the level of preparation and when the onetime CDPM bigwig popularly know as “bureau” within the press in Meme, will be laid to rest.

Even high ranking CPDM militants are at a loss over the situation. The Post learnt that, a meeting recently held at the Kumba City Council behind closed doors, by a handful of Mbonda’s political friends had, in consonance with the family of the deceased, agreed that he be buried on Saturday October 11.

By the beginning of this week, unconfirmed information was making the rounds that the burial will rather take place on October 4.

According to other sources, a final funeral programme can only be arrived at with the approval of the CPDM Central Committee or its Secretary General, Jean Kwete.

Going by the supposed October 11 unofficial programme, the funeral ceremony will take place in Mbonge at the community grand stand where a CDPM delegation, made up of top Government Ministers, is expected to call the shots.

Thereafter, the casket will be ferried to his native Bai Sombe Village for burial.

In the meantime time, The Post leant that some reconstruction work and other preparations are already on course in the birth place of the deceased CDPDM Youth President.

Factors that seem to have delayed the programme, among others, are the poor nature of the road leading to Bai Sombe in the rainy season and the busy schedule of Cabinet Ministers.

Going by this situation, observers say the fallen politician would only be interred on a date when the rains would have ceased and it would be convenient fo Ministers, Directors of State corporations and his political friends to attend.

Despite the delay, the major problem within the entire Meme now remains what becomes of the vacant position left behind by Mbonda.
