Members of the ruling Cameroon Peoples Democratic Movement, CPDM party in Kumba are still to recover from the shocking humiliating defeat in the September 30,2013 twin parliamentary and municipal elections.

The lack of recovery is manifested in their refusal to take part in the voters registration exercise that is currently being conducted by the national elections governing body, ELECAM.

The voter registration exercise that has no fix location, as the ELECAM team moves from quarter to quarter registering residents of Meme divisional head-quarters on the electoral list, is being attended by the opposition Social Democratic Front, (SDF) , as revealed by the SDF representative at the exercise, Enow David.

The later did not however explain whether representatives of the ruling party began the boycott lately or whether they have kept away from the voter registration exercise since it was launched this year. He regretted the fact that the CPDM is doing all these only to later turn around and accuse ELECAM of favouring the SDF.

It is common knowledge that CPDM and ELECAM representatives in Kumba have been at loggerheads since the introduction of the biometric system of registration, with the former accusing the later of supporting the opposition party, particularly the SDF.

It should be recalled that the SDF won the Kumba I, Kumba II and Kumba III councils , and the lone Kumba Urban constituency in the September 30,2013 twin polls.
