'Kumba CPDM militants are endangered species'

The Chairman of the committee responsible for the reorganisation of the basic organs of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM, in Meme IC, Kumba III Subdivision, Southwest Region, Victor Nkelle Ngoh, has observed that the ruling party in Kumba may be extinct if nothing is done to effectively revive it.

Ngoh made the observation recently, while launching the reorganisation exercise of the party’s basic organs in the Meme IC Section in Mabanda. The Committee Chairman urged militants to bury the hatchet and re-strategise to ensure victory for the ruling party in the anticipated elections of 2018.

He explained that issues related to the functioning of the party in Kumba leave many CPDM militants with nostalgic feelings, considering the rise of the opposition.

He posited that the venture in Kumba remains dear to the Chairman of the CPDM party, Paul Biya, who is eager to see the renewed conviction of militants towards the political movement.

“We are in serious business now, because, Kumba CPDM is now an endangered species. Opportunities are coming, but we cannot benefit because losing elections is losing opportunities. We are determined to ensure victory.

Things are happening now and the opposition says it has happened in their time. Know that the SDF is not sleeping too, so, be thinking of how to grab back your position in Kumba III,” Ngoh advised militants.

The Kumba City Council Government Delegate cautioned militants against the notion of monopolising the CPDM party, given that it is a movement of inclusion and not exclusion.

He sued for maturity in the conduct of the reorganisation exercise. Ngoh said further that victory should remain in the name of the party and not personal aggrandisement.

He further challenged militants with egoistic tendencies to rethink their motives of being part of the CPDM, considering the strictness of the ongoing elections. He said the party in Kumba III now has a semblance of a sinking boat and so should be rescued through collective efforts.

Earlier, the incumbent Section President, Isaac Nguba Mukwelle, stated that, for the Kumba City Council boss to succeed in the political reorganisation exercise, he must seek help from the right sources. Nguba saw in the Government Delegate qualities that can help the CPDM to flush out adventurers from the party in Meme.

Concerns over ghost subsections, party cards, among others, were raised. At the end of the meeting, militants expressed the need for the CPDM party cards to be made available to all.

Others, on their part, raised an alarm over what they suspect is a ploy by some persons to erect ghost subsections for their selfish political interests.
