Party officials are on the field mobilising supporters ahead of the September twin polls.
The National Alliance for Democracy and Progress (NADP) popularly known as ANDP, is determined to break grounds in the country's political landscape come September 30 when Cameroonians go to the polls to choose their Members of Parliament and municipal councillors.
After submitting its nomination papers, the party officials immediately embarked on door-to-door meetings with grassroots supporters to maximise chances of grabbing seats in the National Assembly in at least one of the constituencies in the Littoral, North, Far North, South and South West regions where it will be gunning for seats; same with local councils.
The party's National Communication Secretary, Emmanuel Moyo, on field tour in Douala in the Littoral Region, told Cameroon Tribune on telephone yesterday August 6 that they were continuing to sensitise supporters to withdraw their voters' cards. "We want to be sure that all our supporters have their cards ahead of time," he noted. To ensure that supporters had their cards, Emmanuel Moyo said it was indispensable to undertake field trips. "None of our lists was rejected and we are now focused on behind-the-scenes campaign," he said. A meeting to draw up campaign strategies is in the making.
NADP National Chairman, Hamadou Moustapha, recently ended a tour of the East Region where he communed with grassroots supporters. He would also be meeting with those of the Centre Region to intensify sensitisation campaigns for the withdrawal of voters' cards.
