Militants of the Nkwen Subsection of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM, have urged their National Chairman, Paul Biya, to grant them independence from Mezam I.
The militants met on February 26 at the esplanade of the Fon’s Palace in Nkwen and pleaded with their Subsection President, through a motion of support to grant them autonomy from the Mezam I Section.
According to them, if their request is granted, Bamenda III will be raised to a full fledged section and it will facilitate the growth of the party in the Subdivision.
One of the proponents of this request is a Politburo Member of the CPDM and an Alternate Senator to the Fon of Bali, Regina Mundi, who believes that Bamenda III is vibrant enough to be elevated to a full fledged section.
Apart from the request to their party Chairman, the militants donated improved maize seeds to farmers of the Subsection by the WCPDM Subsection President, Ruth Aluma Ndonyi. Mundi thanked Ndonyi for thinking about the farmers in her Subsection.
According to Mundi, the gesture is glaring evidence that, if given a leadership role, Ndonyi will serve her community with humility and love.
The distribution of these maize seeds, she went on, is timely because the rains are near and the planting season is also very close.
The WCPDM Subsection President for Bamenda III, Ruth Ndonyi, qualified the women as great farmers of her constituency. She urged them to make good use of the maize seeds so as to have a bountiful harvest.
According to her, if their harvest is encouraging in three months, it will attract their sisters from the SDF to join the CPDM party. “I am not giving because I have too much, but because in our great party, we take interest in the needy and share what we have. I urged the women to ensure that the seeds multiply from the farms to the party. President Biya is a farmer and a father who has taught us what we are replicating today,” Ndonyi averred.
The WCPDM Subsection President said they will embark on a proximity campaign so as to flush out the SDF from Bamenda III in the 2018 Municipal and Legislative elections.
His Majesty, Fon Abenefor of Nkwen, told his subjects to believe and trust in President Biya, who to him, incarnates peace, justice and development. He challenged Nkwen youths to shun laziness and rush to Government structures for employment.
He pleaded with the youth to be interested in the National Civic Service for Participation in Development. Fon Abenefor averred that the days of the SDF in his village are numbered.
