The opposition in the Nyong and Kelle Division of the Centre Region will seemingly have it tough with the ruling Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (CPDM) that has vowed to increase the number of council areas in its control to ten, all that the division boasts of.
The CPDM has made its stance clear that it was high time they took their leadership of the area by moving from the management of eight and half council areas to all the ten in the area. The battle is not only to have the council areas but to maintain leadership at the National Assembly by winning all the three legislative seats of the division.
Launching campaigns for the Nyong and Kelle Division on September 16 in Esèka, the Minister of Social Affairs who doubles as the Divisional Commission Campaign Leader, Catherine Bakang Mbock said they were embracing the spirit of "Divided we fall and united we stand" to conquer all the seats in the locality.
She challenged party supporters and sympathisers to remain mobilized so that together, they could work intensively and seriously for a win for the CPDM as instructed by the party National Chairman and Head of State, Paul Biya. This, according to Bakang Mbock is to continue to support the Head of State in his drive to better the livelihood of Cameroonians and those of the Nyong and Kelle.
CPDM is rich in human resources and collaboration was imperative, she said. The party aims at embracing proximity campaign as September 30 approaches with door-to-door campaigns primarily with the respect of democratic principles, Catherine Bakang Mbock stressed. Grassroots supporters pledged their support for the party during the upcoming polls. They will be voting Jean Jacques Sob as list leader for legislative elections.
