Parliamentarians Prepare to Vote Programme Budget

Members of the National Assembly are preparing to vote the 2013 Finance Law during the November 2012 budgetary session of the House that will focus on the implementation of programme budget in Cameroon. The budget that is results-orientated will go into force on January 1, 2013.

It is therefore in view of ensuring efficiency in examining and voting the results-oriented budget which is part of the reforms of the new fiscal regime of the State that members of the Finance and Budget Committee of the National Assembly are being drilled in a three-day workshop that ends in Yaounde, Friday, October 19. Speaking while opening the workshop, the Chairperson of the Committee on Finance and Budget, Hon. Moutymbo Rosette Julienne epsé Ayayi said the training session was important as henceforth, Cameroon will use programme budget. MPs who will examine and vote the budget therefore have to master all the contours of the programme budget in order to be efficient. Particular attention has to do with the phases of drawing up the budget and what to look for during its examination and adoption.

When the workshop ends Friday, the participants would have mastered the main innovations in the law of December 26, 2007 on the fiscal regime of the State, technical framework of strategic planning in Cameroon, drawing up and presenting draft administration performance and processes of examining the performance.
