The clement weather of Friday morning with temperatures hovering around 25°Celsius was good enough for a presidential outing; as at early as 7AM there were indications that the President of the Republic was out for something as Presidential Guards began to take up positions at strategic points on the 20-kilometer stretch of road between the Presidential palace and the Nsimalen International Airport.

Before the presidential motorcade took off from State House, the road had been cleared by security officials even if at some crossing points, the police made it easy for early morning city dwellers to go about their chores by crossing from one part of the city to the other even in the cut or reduced traffic circulation.

The President of the Republic arrived at the Presidential lounge of the Yaounde-Nsimalen International Airport at exactly 11 am where on the welcome line were the President of the Senate, Niat Njifenji; the Prime Minister, Philemon Yang, the Minister, Secretary-General at the Presidency of the Republic, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh; a Vice Speaker of the National Assembly, Théophile Baoro;, the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Cameroon Peoples Democratic Movement, Jean Nkuete; the Deputy Director of the Civil Cabinet at the Presidency Joseph LE; the Delegate General for National Security Martin Mbarga Nguele; the Director General for External Research, Maxime Léoplod Eko Eko; the Governor of the Centre Region, Joseph Otto Wilson; the Senior Divisional Officers of the Mfoundi and Mefou-and-Afamba , Jean Claude Tsila and Emmanuel Mariel Djikdent respectively and the Government Delegate to the Yaounde City Council, Gilbert Tsimi Evouna .

The President of the Republic stopped briefly at the lounge before heading for the aircraft.

The same team greeting him on arrival also saw him off after his brief stay in the lounge where he, unusually did not receive any official although he was heard giving some specific instructions to the Prime Minister. His plane took off at about 11.20AM for his “brief private stay” as a State House Communiqué issued later stated
