Hon. Ayah Paul Abine, President of the People's Action Party, PAP, is heading the party's parliamentary list in his home Manyu constituency in the South West Region.

The seasoned magistrate, second class traditional ruler of Akwaya town goes into the annals of Cameroon's political history as a daring politician. He went into the National Assembly on the ruling Cameroon People's Democratic Movement, CPDM ticket as one of the three MPs for Manyu in 2002. He was re-elected in 2007 and his colleagues of the Foreign Affairs Committee elected him chair of the Committee.

Everyone would have expected Ayah Paul Abine to enjoy his position and remain loyal to his CPDM party. But, the outspoken politician would always speak his mind on national issues, being noted as the lone CPDM MP who refused to vote the bill on the limitless term of office of the President of the Republic. This act was an indication of his subsequent resignation from the CPDM in January 2011.

Towards the 2011 presidential election, he created the People's Action Party, PAP contested for the presidency and came fifth in the general classification of results. Ayah Paul Abine is running for the legislative election in the Manyu constituency he knows so well. He aims at nothing but winning the three seats for the constituency, the Akwaya Council and other councils in the South West Region.
