The highly awaited phase of the renewal of executive of grassroots structures of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM, was launched on October 2, 2015 at the Yaounde Conference Centre during an information meeting chaired by the Secretary General of the Central Committee, Jean Nkuete.
After giving assurances that the renewal exercise was timely, the Scribe urged the members of various commissions who massively attended the conclave, to make the exercise a success.
While enjoining the participants to carefully read the National Chairman’s circular which is their roadmap, Jean Nkuete emphasised on the fact that the renewal exercise marks an important milestone since it is an election based on universal suffrage.
Thus, the members of various commissions were instructed to be rigorous, master the party’s grassroots map, correct all decried apparent weaknesses, particularly the selective distribution and/or retention of party cards by some militants.
“Section presidents who retained cards or distributed them selectively, committed grave mistakes. Party cards that were acquired from party officials are not valid, including for militants who are not up to date with their contributions,” the party Scribe warned.
Further clarifications about the exercise were given by the Adviser in the Central Committee’s General Secretariat, Prof. Paul Célestin Ndembiyembe, who gave answers to frequently asked questions about the exercise.
A meeting of Chargé des Missions of various commissions takes place today at the Conference Centre as part of preparations.
