An enlarged Exco-meeting of the SDF Buea Electoral District met on Saturday December 20, 2014 to review its activities, following the 2013 dual elections.
Firebrand District Chairman, Pa Johnson Kwendi moaned the insalubrious nature of some sectors in Buea sub division. He particularly cited the obnoxious presence of a motor garage around the vicinity of Auberge in Great Soppo.
He said the Administration, the Council authorities, Forces of Law and Order have all been informed of the suffocating presence of the garage in question. Pa Kwendi lamented that promises made by the garage owner to either re-locate or decongest the garage premises have remained unfulfilled since five months ago. He called on the Mayor of Buea Council specially, to resolve this imbroglio with alacrity.
Another irksome problem unearthed by the enlarged Exco zeroed on the land grabbing syndrome in Buea sub division. But since a Ministerial Order has put a halt on ceded land by the CDC the meeting equally decided to suspend its re-actions on the matter, albeit, temporarily.
On the other hand, the Exco dwelt at length on election rigging in 2013 with accusing fingers pointed at one particular Elecam Officer. Most worrisome was the Anti-terrorist Law that will soon be promulgated. The SDF Buea Electoral District Chairman described the said Law as … suicidal.
On the whole, the Exco resolved to inform the hierarchy of Fako (in writing) to redress the afforecited shortcomings. Meanwhile, the Exco members unanimously agreed to forward their misgivings about the Anti-terrorist Law to their Party governing body, NEC.
