Supporters of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) of Yaounde IV Electoral District have been trained on the ideology of the party and the functioning of its grassroots structures.

The training that took place on June 26, 2016, in Anguissa, in the Yaounde IV Sub-division was organised by the executive of the electoral district.

According to the Yaounde IV SDF District Chairman, Aloys Parfait Mbvoum Mbvoum, the training of party militants is done annually in the district to keep members abreast of the happenings within and out of the party.

This time around, the training was more pertinent, considering that the electoral district has witnessed about 90 per cent influx of new adherents.

“There are so many members, especially the new comers who do not yet know the objectives, ideology of the party and how the basic organs are managed”, he stated.

Topics such as the identity of the SDF, how to manage SDF structures, the difference between the SDF and other political parties, were covered at the training.

By so doing, he said, they are arming their party members with necessary skills to enable them grow politically and make the party stronger. The training, Mbvoum added, was geared at better preparing supporters for the 2018 elections.

Apart from imparting participants with knowledge on party ideology and objectives, the training also provided the opportunity for militants to be sensitised on the new Penal Code in gestation.

SDF’s Senator, Etienne Sonkin, explained to them some provisions of the Penal Code.
