The exercise is expected to re-dynamise the party and renders it more competitive from the base.
Officials of the frontline opposition party, the Social Democratic Front (SDF) in the Centre Region, have embarked on the creation and renewal of wards that hitherto went comatose. The exercise according to the Centre Regional Communication officer, Alima Mbarga, is aimed at revitalising the basic organs of the party.
So far, close to 100 wards have been created or rejuvenated in some five districts of Mfoundi Division. The exercise which has started in Yaounde according to Mr Mbarga shall progressively move to other Divisions and culminate in the reorganisation of the Centre Regional bureau. The new temporary bureaus have 10 months to prove their worth to merit the confidence of the hierarchy that will carry out evaluation.
The massive mobilisation of SDF supporters and sympathisers during the celebrations of the National Day last May 20, 2015, at the May 20th Boulevard in Yaounde inspired the present move which seeks to revitalise the party at the base and render it more competitive ahead of future elections.
