The four political parties in competition in Manyu Division, notably CPDM, PAP, CDP and ANDP concentrated day 10 of the campaigns wooing tribal and professional groups based in Mamfe to their sides.

Such tribal groups under persuasion include the AKwaya, the Bangwa, the Hausa, and various other settlers from the North West Region. The bargain, on the tables, varies from material assistance to positions offered on the candidates' lists. Anonymously, some of the groups contacted by eager parties hinted that they asked for chairs to equip their cultural halls, improvement of streets into their quarters or any other thing that would satisfy their collective interests.

In addition, the protagonists are pulling at the major absentee SDF party, not present in competition in Manyu this time, to lend out their votes come 30 September. Already, Chief Senator Nfor Tabetando Ndiepso George told a campaign crowd in his Bachuo Ntai palace, Monday, that the parties absent from this year's election had agreed to vote for the CPDM municipal and legislative lists in Mamfe Central. Speaking as chief campaigner for Mamfe Central, Senator Nfor Tabetando urged all settlers and indigenous persons in the area to sink differences as they vote. He called on them to recognize President Paul Biya's drive for peace and on-going greater achievements for Cameroon.

For Mamfe Central, chest board of Manyu's projects, CPDM's list leader, Ayuk John Takunchong is leaving no stone unturned to maintain himself at the helm of the Council he took over in 2007. The ANDP's Arrey Eyong Ashu who was succeeded by Takunchong is swearing all to bounce back on the ticket of his newfound party. Newcomer, Benz Enow, under his own engineered CDP, is testing the political grounds of Mamfe promising the people all his ability.
